FL17 has an email list we all can use to stay in touch. Subscribing, unsubscribing, and other management tasks are done through the email list admin page.
Everyone can be part of the FL17 email list. Once you are on the list send email to the special address fl17-all (at) flyfl17.org (Change the “(at)” to “@”). Your email will go to all that are on the list.
We don't get a lot of email traffic from the lists but some people like to minimize what they do get. There is a mode called Digest Mode that will reduce email to no more than one per day. In Digest Mode all the email from the day will be combined into a single email and sent out. If you want to stay on the lists but want to reduce the amount of email you receive you can set this through the email list admin page, or contact Bob Baggerman at bob (at) baggerman.org to enable Digest Mode for you.

To unsubscribe yourself first go to the email list admin page. Click on the link for the email list from which you want to unsubscribe. After clicking on the link for the email list you will see a web page with various fields for subscribers. Enter your email address into the box to the left of the “Unsubscribe or edit options” button.
Since everyone will get the email you send we would like to keep the information and usefulness high. Here are a few guidelines to think about before you send that email to the group.
1) The overriding guideline is that email sent to the list should be of general interest to most, if not all. Before you send think about how your note would be received. Would just about everyone be interested and appreciative? Is there useful information or thoughtful comments?
2) By default I have the list setup so that if you hit “Reply” it only goes back to the original sender. If you hit “Reply All” your response will go back out to the entire list. If your reply is of general interest then indeed send it out to the list. If your reply is more person then consider just sending the reply back to the person who sent it. If you feel compelled to reply then most of the time a reply should only go back to person who posted. Only reply to the entire list if it is important that all should see it.
